Mission Statement

The mission of Burgard High School is to maintain a professional learning community that provides challenging academic program coupled with career training.

Our goal is provide students with academic rigor and relevance so they may enjoy academic, employment and personal success.

Our school beliefs are as follows:

We believe reading is necessary to the academic success of all students.

We believe academic rigor with real life relevance, coupled with relationship building and developmentally appropriate initiatives will result in increased student achievement.

We believe in positive character development, whereby students gain the emotional intelligence and motivation to function as productive, respectful individuals within a community.

We believe it is necessary to actively invite our parents into the school, and to create meaningful partnerships with parents, because they are our chidren's first and most influential teachers and are integral to the high academic achievement of students.

We believe student achievement will be enhanced through regular monitoring of student performance with instructional adjustments based on data - DuFour, Schmoker.
