Curricular Resources

9-12 Teacher Resources

The BPS Department of Mathematics offers a rigorous four-year sequence of college-preparatory and work readiness courses for students with varied learning styles and academic interests. Our goal is to enable every student to reach his or her potential in an engaging, academically focused setting.

In every mathematics course, students will:
•    understand the concepts of and become proficient with the skills of mathematics;
•    communicate and reason mathematically;
•    become problem solvers by using appropriate tools and strategies; through the integrated    study of number sense and operations, algebra, geometry, measurement, and statistics and probability where mathematics is viewed as a whole body of knowledge, not as a set of individual components.  (NYS Standard 3)

Secondary mathematics courses curricular resource materials include:

  • Course Descriptions
  • BPS Pacing Plans
  • NYSED Core Curriculum
  • Vocabulary words for courses
  • Assessment regulations and guidelines

To receive a Regents diploma students must earn three units of credit in mathematics and demonstrate attainment of the New York State learning standards by passing a commencement level Regents examination in mathematics.
