The educational program provides systematic instruction in:
Practical Academics
functional vocabulary and community literacy, money skills, time, schedule and map reading, employment application process, calculator skills, bus schedule use, personal calendar organization, and work schedules
Self-Management/Home Living
grooming/hygiene, budgeting, housekeeping, and meal preparation
General Community Functioning
community travel training, shopping, accessing community services including the post office, social services, banking using ATM cards, savings and checking accounts, public telephones and calling cards
School and Extra Curricular Activities
home entertainment, public entertainment including movies, concerts, skating, bowling, swimming and physical activities
Vocational Training
group & individual vocational training sites, transition to supported community employment, range of employability including adult agency/workshop setting and competitive employment in the private sector
Home & Careers, Physical Education and Music
additional opportunities include Home & Careers, which stresses consumer science, money management, nutrition, cooking, personal environment and clothing management, Physical Education in which students experience physical activity and health education and Music, where students participate in creating, performing, listening and learning about a wide variety of music styles and cultures
