Students at Roosevelt ECC #65 participated in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Pennies for Patients program. For the month of February and March, children were encouraged to collect pennies, change and currency to raise money to support the research of leukemia, lymphoma and blood cancers. Funds raised from Pennies for Patients will help support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s programs of blood cancer research and local patient aid and services. The Western New York & Finger Lakes Chapter currently funds nine research projects at Roswell Park Cancer Institute and the University of Rochester. The local chapter also has approximately 2,200 patients on their roster. The school raised a total of $787.27 for the cause.
