We are off to a great start in second grade.  We are looking forward to a year filled with developing reading fluency, learning new vocabulary in all subject areas, and developing better reading comprehension.  In Math we will be concentrating on many skills.  We will be learning games to play at home and school to help reinforce these skills.

     Our class has been working hard over the past month getting to know procedures and the rules of the classroom.  It is important to note that homework is given Monday-Thursday and there is a spelling test (vocabulary words) every Friday.  Each student has a communication/homework notebook that should be brought home and back to school with completed homework and signed behavior reports each day.  It is imperative, that you check these notebooks each night to make sure that homework is being done correctly and to monitor your child's behavior.

     Please stess to your child the importance of following the rules of the school and our classroom.  Together, we will be able to provide a successful learning environment for everyone.
