WELCOME TO FOURTH GRADE!
The fourth grade teachers would like to welcome you and your child to an exciting new school year at School #81. In fourth grade, important state tests in English Language Arts and Math are given. We will be ordering review/study guides for one or both of these subjects soon and will let you know then what the cost will be. We set high expectations for our fourth graders at School #81 and work hard to instill a strong work ethic in each and every child. We sincerely appreciate the parents who support these efforts at home.
Fourth grade requires much more homework and studying for tests than your child may be accustomed to. Falling behind in any subject due to lack of homework, studying, poor attitude or absence makes it extremely difficult to catch up on what has been missed/not learned. Please check your child's planner daily for assignments that are to be done at home. Homework is essential for school success and in many cases becomes a part of your child's report card grade. Be on the lookout for a Progress Report, which will be sent home the 5th, 15th, 25th and 35th weeks of the school year
