Mr. Littere - ELA Support
Welcome back! I hope you had a great summer! Junior high students began the year reading excellent literature in ELA class. Eighth graders practiced visualizing description of Edgar Alan Poe's "Tell-tale Heart". They are currently discussing a short story called "Stop the Sun" by Gary Paulsen and composing theme statements--a skill they will need in high school.
The seventh graders are finishing second drafts of an essay called "What's in a Name?"
Both grades will be receiving homework assignments located in their Interactive Readers on a regular basis. This work represents continued reinforcement of skills that have been introduced during class. Thank you for asking your junior high student if they are up to date with these assignments. A high score on homework will raise their report card grade.
