WELCOME TO JR HIGH MATH!
Welcome to Junior High. This year will require a lot of hard work, so that everyone can be successful in 7th and 8th grade. To be successful it is very important that every student completes all their homework on time and to the best of their ability. It is also important that each student spends time reviewing and studying the information taught in class. If you are having any difficulties with this material you are welcome to sign up for Math Club. This extra help will occur during lunch on Tuesday and Thursday.
Miss Colley Math Support Newsletter
Welcome back to school students and families. My name is Mrs. Koscielski and I am the new Math Support teacher here at school 81. This s my first year at your school and I have been extremely pleased and excited to meet the students in all grade levels. I have been working in the Mathematics Department for the Buffalo Public schools for over a year and have taught middle school Mathematics in the 6th, 7th and 8th grade levels. I thoroughly enjoy middle school mathematics and preparing students for success on the New York State Mathematics Assessment. My goal for this year is to help students at 81 achieve the highest success possible on the assessment in May and in their individual math classes throughout the year.
Primarily, I will be working with the 6th, 7th and 8th grade students here at Public School 81. However, I am available to help any student in our school with challenges in mathematics that may arise over the upcoming year. My goal for this year is to prepare for the New York State Assessment in May and to achieve this goal involves working on basic skills and concepts from the previous school year. As an involved team, together students, parents and I can hopefully achieve mastery of these skills for future use in the classroom and on the assessment.
We have had a successful start to the year and each student has displayed a strong work ethic towards learning mathematics and becoming a mathematician! I am excited to further develop our skills and build strong mathematicians at School 81!
