May 22, 2009 City Honors School Student Earns Prestigious Scholarship  CHS student Jimmitti Teysir | On March 27, 2009, 47 students from across upstate New York competed in the Tri Region Science and Engineering Fair (TRSEF) in Syracuse. Jimmitti Teysir, a student from City Honors School, was selected for a Grand Award. The Grand Award includes representing the 27 counties served by TRSEF at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Reno, Nevada, May 10th-15th. 5/ 6 Content and Strategies Training (Part 4)
PGS Course #744: This training will introduce and further expand teacher knowledge of the intermediate Earth Science curriculum incorporated within the 6th grade science curriculum. Earth science will become the primary focus in 5th and 6th grade as drafts of new pacing guides are introduced. By the end of this training teachers will be provided with binders and enough support materials to be able to begin teaching earth science in a comprehensive and rigorous manner.

PGS Course #584. "This science content PLO for teachers will allow participants to deepen their own content knowledge about electricity through guided and learner-directed inquiry. Participants will engage in inquiries involving electricity, circuits, energy, and measurement. They will become knowledgeable in observing, developing questions, planning investigations, and using a variety of instruments and informational sources to further their essential understanding of electricity. They will design, implement, and infuse research techniques, including record-keeping, into personal inquiries. Materials were developed by CAPSI at the California Institute of Technology. "
