| Congratulations to Nancy N., Frank A. Sedita School #30 Citizen of the Month for October. Nancy represents Grade 7 this month. While in school Nancy’s favorite subjects are Phys Ed and Social Studies, while at home she likes to text people and go to sleep. Nancy is involved in her community through a dance program and she likes to help around the school. Nancy’s goal is to become a doctor.
Also representing Grade 7 for the month of October is Mariana F. Mariana’s favorite school subject is Phys Ed, and when she’s at home she likes to be in her room watching TV and playing on her computer. Mariana connects to her community through her involvement with Holy Angels Church. Mariana counts her mom and sleep among her favorite things, and her goals are to attend McKinley HS and to eventually become a doctor.

| Grade 8 Charmaine J. M.
| Charmaine J. M. was nominated Citizen of the Month for October for Grade 8. Charmaine would like to thank her mother, Shawn A. Walker for all of her support. Charmaine’s favorite subjects are English and Science, while after school she enjoys hip-hop dance, computers and her phone. In addition to being a member of the Leaders In Training program, Charmaine also volunteers at the Boys & Girls Club working with younger kids. Wishing to explore a science-related career Charmaine wants to become a pediatrician, nurse or forensic scientist. When asked what her favorite thing in the whole world is she modestly replied “Charmaine J. M.”

| Representing grade 7 for the month of November is Jessie B.. Jessie loves animals and wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up. One of Jessie’s favorite things to do (when not in school, of course) is sleep. Jessie is well liked by teachers and peers, and is a great role model to other students. Jessie, who lives with her parents Jean and Charles, considers respectfulness to be her greatest quality, and believes that respect is the most important character trait for continued success. Of all the things she could think of, Jessie says that food is her favorite.

| Abidikadir is the grade 8 representative for the month of November. Abdikadir is an avid soccer fan. His favorite interest in school is soccer. Out of school Abdikadir enjoys playing soccer and is a member of the Delaware Soccer Club. Abdikadir’s goal for the future is to be a famous soccer player. The most important character traits for success, according to Abdikadir, are respect and responsibility, which he tries to exemplify on the soccer pitch. If it isn’t yet clear, Abdikadir’s favorite thing in the world is playing soccer.

| Representing grade 7 for the month of December is Leysis M. Leysis tries to stay involved in the Frank A. Sedita community through sports and as a member of band. When out of school Leysis likes talking with her friends. Leysis’ future goal is to become a teacher. In order to be successful Leysis thinks it is important to be respectful. Leysis loves to dance more than almost anything.

| Eighth grade Citizen of the Month for December is Fatuma M. Her favorite subject in school is science, and while not in school Fatuma enjoys playing soccer and basketball. Fatuma stays active in her community by volunteering at her mosque and helps at home by babysitting. In the future Fatuma plans to attend Harvard and then go onto medical school to become a doctor or a nurse. Among the most important character traits Fatuma lists compassion, responsibility, fairness and goal setting. Fatuma considers her family to be her favorite thing in the world.

| Grade 7 Ginette M. | For January, Ginette M. is the grade 7 Citizen of the Month at Frank A. Sedita Elementary School #30. Ginette doesn’t have any serious interests in school, but outside of school she enjoys drawing. According to Ginette the most important character trait for success in life is simply being good. Ginette, who is named after her mother, wants to use her drawing talents and become an artist. She is also considering a career as a chiropractor. Among her favorite things in the whole world Ginette lists the universe and animals.

| Jamila M. is being honored as the grade 8 Citizen of the Month for January. Jamila loves sports and her favorite school subject is physical education. When she is not in school Jamila likes to play outside with her friends. Perhaps influencing her nomination as Citizen of the Month, Jamila plans to become a teacher. Also certainly influencing her nomination, Jamila strives to always be respectful. Jamila loves volleyball so much she considers it her favorite thing in the world.

| Honored as the grade 7 Citizen of the Month for February is Helen D. Helen considers her brother Toan to be the person who has been the most influential in her life. When in school Helen likes Science class and is also a member of the school track team. While out of school Helen likes to hang out with her best friends and she likes singing. Helen considers music to be her favorite thing in the whole world, and she likes music and singing so much that her future goal is to become a singer. Helen considers respect to be the most important character trait to continued success.

| Ashley C. is representing the 8th grade as Citizen of the Month for February. Ashley is a proud member of the school’s Leaders In Training team. She lists Rasheeda R., and fellow LIT teammate Johmazia G. as being the two most influential people in her life. Ashley’s favorite school subjects are both Science and Spanish. When not in school Ashley likes playing football and going out. Ashley is very close with all of her friends and considers them to be her favorite thing in the world. According to Ashley responsibility and good personal hygiene are both essential for continued success. Ashley’s goal is to be an undercover spy someday.

| Representing grade 7 as the Citizen of the Month for March is Vigan H. Throughout his life Vigan has been most influenced by his father, and says that his whole family is his favorite thing. Vigan’s favorite school subjects are math, science and social studies. In his free time Vigas likes drawing. Vigan believes that being responsible is most important to be successful in life. Vigan hopes to pursue his interests in math and science and become a doctor someday.

| Eighth grade Citizen of the Month for March is Charleena T. Charleena’s aunt has been the most influential person in her life, and Charleena would like to thank her for being so supportive. Charleena is very physically active and her favorite school subject is gym. Charleena stays involved in school as a member of the Leaders In Training program. Out of school Charleena stays involved in her community through her church, where she is a member of the chorus. Where ever she is, Charleena loves to sing and dance. According to Charleena being responsible and respectful are critical to success, and she always leads by example. In the future, Charleena plans to go to college, to work hard and to be very successful.
