• Privacy/Student Confidentiality Issues

Both Federal and New York State Laws govern privacy issues regarding Student and Staff data.  In developing procedures and processes to collect and report this data, it is necessary to incorporate safeguards to protect the privacy of the individuals to whom the data pertain.

Strategic Evaluation Data Collection, Analysis and Reporting (SEDCAR) is a unit of Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID) is responsible for data collection, analysis, and reporting to meet federal and State requirements for special education and vocational rehabilitation. SEDCAR analyzes data to evaluate the State’s progress toward accomplishing the Department’s strategic goals for students and individuals with disabilities.
