The Buffalo Public Schools provides transportation for secondary students on the NFTA Metro system. Metro is a tremendous resource for our students. It is critical that we all work together to ensure that the Metro system remains safe to allow our students full access to their educational opportunities.
Most students will be issued passes in their first few days of school. All BPS passes and many Charter School passes will identify the route home where the pass is valid (the "Assigned Route"). This route is determined by a routing program with the NFTA. Parents are encouraged to review the best routes of travel with their children and request a change to the bus pass if they determine an alternate route works better.
The NFTA web site, which is featured as a link on this page, contains a user frendly interface to help determine the service available from home to school and from school to home.

Metro web site
This is the NFTA's website for Metro. It includes all the current route schedules and also a trip planner that uses the same software we use to determine the "Assigned Routes" on the passes.
