James A. Williams, Superintendent of the Buffalo Public Schools and the Members of the Buffalo Board of Education honored and recognized the following individuals during a recent Board of Education meeting:
Individuals instrumental in producing The African and African-American History and Diversity Conference at McKinley High School.
Mrs. Crystal Barton, Principal of McKinley High School. The conference is in its 7th year and will be held Friday, February 27th and Saturday, February 28th. Mrs. Barton has devoted endless hours to making the conference a success.
Dr. Yvonne Minor-Ragan, Principal of Westminster Charter School. Dr. Minor-Ragan has, every year, brought more than two hundred students to attend the annual conference.
Ms. Geraldine Horton, Principal of East High School, Mrs. Ramona Thomas-Reynolds, Principal of Bennett High School, and Mrs. Crystal Barton have won championships in the African-American Quiz Bowl for the last four years.
Mr. James Weimer, Principal of Emerson High School, has offered continued support of the conference.
Mr. Keith Hughes, McKinley High School Social Studies teacher who develops the questions and proctors the Quiz Bowl.
