At all times remember that this is U.S. History class. What this means is that you have to be alert to differences among regions of the nation or world and among different kinds of people. In the colonial period, this means that you must know how New England, the Mid-Atlantic (middle colonies), and South differed. You also have to be aware of distinctions among kinds of people (gender, class, and race point to the three "kinds"). Finally, always be alert to people who consider themselves to be harmed in some way by those in control--economically, socially or politically.
