1. Holocaust Resource Center Project
I have set up this blog to find out what your ideas are for your project and what you have accomplished this far. I cannot stress how important it is to be working on a DAILY basis and not leaving this until the last minute. Students who are consistently working create better videos- HANDS DOWN. I want to know what your idea is and how far you have gotten. If you are finished- hand it in! Everyone needs to respond to this blog posting TODAY. The deadlines I set are based on the amount of time I believe it takes to make an exceptional video. If I continue to see that people are wasting class time and handing in mediocre work, I will change the due date and all future projects will have shorter deadlines. I cannot have students using this class for a study hall. At this point in the year I should be amazed at the quality of the movies that are coming out of English V. Very few movies have lived up to my expectations and I have been disappointed by the laziness of quite a few students. Everyone should know how to upload footage, edit footage and create a movie file by now. You should be putting all of your energy into creating something that you are VERY PROUD OF not something that you beg me not to show in class.

3. Health Care Debate
There has been a lot of media coverage of the Health Care package being supported by President Obama. There has also been a great deal of debate on both sides of the issue. What is National Health Care? Why do people support National Health Care? Why do people oppose it? What do you think? Should we have a National Health Care system?

4. Social Networking
For our first blog, I would like you to discuss your thoughts on social networking websites. Many people have Facebook, Twitter and My Space accounts. Some people spend many hours on these websites. Do you think people are getting carried away with the amount of time spent on these sites? Do you think some people have become obsessed with checking the status of other people or with updating their own statuses? Do you think employers should be able to hold their employees accountable for the things the employees post online? Answer these questions and do some research about cases in which people have lost their jobs over either their use of these sites on company time OR over what they have posted on these sites. Reference the information you find in your blog response. Blog responses should be a minimum of 100 words.
