Each year, NCTIES awards a cash prize of $250 for an innovative, content-rich website that effectively uses the Internet as an instructional resource. This year’s winner, Gregory Louie, teaches bio-technology to sixth, seventh, and eighth-graders at the Gravelly Hills Middle School in Efland, North Carolina. Gravelly Hills is part of the Orange County School District. His site was produced by using the same Content Management System employed by our Teacher Pages in Buffalo.

The site is updated each academic year by volunteers from the English Wikipedia and SOS Children, a British children's charity. Topics are selected from an array of academic catelgories and then "tidied up" for student use.
Dance Mat Typing
Dance Mat Typing is an introduction to touch typing for children aged 7 - 11 years. You will need headphones or speakers to enjoy the song and dance in each game. The games use the Flash plug-in - if your computer doesn't have Flash, you can find information on how to download it here, or you can play the alternative interactive versions available at each stage. Worksheets are available for each stage that can be printed out and used offline with a typewriter or computer.
