Welcome to the 2021-2022 School Year, Parents/ Guardians!

My philosophy as a teacher is that my classroom is built off of relationships. Each student is a part of a family as soon as they walk into my door on September 8th. From there, we will build on our social emotional and coping skills, think of innovative ways we can continue to thrive as the best versions of ourselves, as well as dive deep into our four content areas: ELA, Math, Social Studies, and Science. 

I am really looking forward to an exciting year with your child! Communication is very important to me and helps us to build our learning community, as well as helps to build relationships with each other. Class Rules and Expectations: 

1. I will listen and follow all directions.  
2. I will demonstrate positive peer and adult interactions. 
3. I will maintain a calm and safe body. 
4. I will show respect to my class materials, supplies, and technology. 
5. I will show respect to myself. 

Class Dojo and Point Sheets: Class Dojo and daily point sheets are both used as ways to track daily behavior and provide incentives for your child. Students will receive a point sheet each day outlining their behavior for the day, that is to be returned the next day, signed by a parent or guardian. Class Dojo will allow students to earn different incentives throughout the year, depending on the percent of positive Class Dojo points. While this may be new for your child, the process in which their behavior is positively reinforced throughout the school year allows for each student to find the most success!!
