Welcome to the 2015- 2016 school year at D'Youville Porter Campus School #3! My name is Ms. Coburn, and our first grade class is in Room 219. Our class grandparent is Mrs. Harris, known to the students as "Grandma Liz".
Your child will need the following supplies:
* pencils for throughout
the year
* 5 composition
notebooks
* crayons

Please make sure your child reads for 15 minutes a day, and ask them about what they have just read. Understanding what they've read is one of the most valuable skills our students acquire.
I will give homework every night except Friday; it will usually be a math page and spelling.
Monday: new spelling words, three times each.
Tuesday: study.
Wednesday: write the words in ABC order.
Thursday: study the words for Friday's test.
Feel free to come to our room to visit at anytime, you are always welcome to observe. Stop by the office first to get a pass.
