  • Welcome to my new classroom website!

    I will be spending some time getting everything together but would appreciate any suggestions along the way.

    There are many areas to the website that I know you will find great value in. My goal is to make the website not just a tool for me, as the teacher, to connect with parents, but also a learning tool and resource for the students.

    The Mission of Art Program in BPS is: "To encourage and cultivate in our students a life-long love, respect and appreciation for the Visual Arts by providing all students with a rigorous Visual Arts program that is aligned to NYS standards, the BPS Curriculum, and Common Core Learning Standards. By doing so, the Visual Arts will become an integral part of the successes and achievements of all our students."

    Listed bellow are the New York State Standards for the Visual Arts that we follow:

    Standard 1 - Creating & Performing in the Arts
    Students will be creating 2&3 dimensional works of art

    Standard 2 - Knowing and Using Art materials and Resoures
    Students will use and learn about different mediums and resources in art

    Standard 3 - Responding to and Analyzing Works of Art
    Students will learn how to "read" and understand visual arts. Student will be required to speak and write about art.

    Standard 4 - Understanding the Cultural Dimensions and Contributions of the Arts
    Students will learn about art from different cultures of the past and present.


    All students are expected to follow all guidelines in the Buffalo Public School District Student Code of Conduct. It is expected that students follow the rules and maintain responsibility within the classroom.

    Grading:

    70% Art Projects 
    15% sketchbook assignments
    15% participation/behavior
