Welcome to Mrs. Fitch's Website!
Children can experience speech and language delays for a variety of reasons. If left untreated, children can experience difficulty interacting effectively with others and may struggle in all academic areas. When a child receives speech-language therapy, he/she may be seen individually or in a small group. Regardless, students work on individual goals to address specific needs. Parents and caregivers can signifcantly impact a child's progress by carrying over the skills being taught during speech therapy sessions.
Speech therapy may address the following areas:
* Articulation / Phonology
* Expressive language
* Receptive language
* Voice
* Fluency (stuttering)sound-letters correspondence
* Pragmatics (social communication skills)
