Welcome to Room 217!!
I'm so excited to welcome you to the 2016-2017 school year! I have a lot planned this year alongside the second grade team. If you have any questions or concerns throughout the year, please feel free to ask.
We have many great stories that we will be reading this year. We'll be practicing our comprehension skills, for example: main idea and details, cause and effect, text and graphic features, compare and contrast, as well as understanding characters. We also practice our high-frequency and vocabulary words everyday.
In Math, the students will begin with reviewing number bonds of 10 while adding and subtracting. Our emphasis this year will be solving word problems. We will soon be starting Module 2 which focuses on measuring using centimeters.
