Please note: Starting July 1, we will begin accepting LOIs and IHIPs for the 2022-2023 school year. Please do not send any forms for 22-23 until July 1. Further, starting in July, IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT ALL FORMS BE SUBMITTED VIA EMAIL TO BPSHomeSchooling@BuffaloSchools.org. Electronic submission of forms will allow the Office of Home Schooling to better process paperwork and conform receipt in a more timely fashion.

The BPS Home School website contains important information regarding the home school enrollment process and other required procedures and parental obligations. You are making a big decision in your child’s life and there are many factors to consider. Please read all the pages of the website carefully and be sure to complete all the required paperwork, as it is essential that both you and the district maintain and submit timely records.
The procedures outlined on the website are utilized as the standard for reviewing Individualized Home Instruction Plans (IHIPs) and determining substantial equivalence of instruction as required by the NYSED Commissioner’s Regulation 100.10.
