Open House
Our Open House will be held this Thursday, September 22 from 5:30 to 7:00. Please join us to meet the other families who attend school with your children. There will also be a health fair with lots of interesting information, samples and free health tests. Pizza and juice will be served for $1. Your children will have an opportunity to show you the work they do in the classroom. You will be able to discover what they mean by “building the stair”.
Absences
When your child is absent, please send in a note upon his/her return including the dates of absence, reason for absence and your signature. Absences are considered illegal until a note is brought in stating a reason for a legal absence.
Ms. Mary’s Website
Ms. Mary has her own personal school website. If you are able, go to buffaloschools.org/webpages/mcerny/to check it out. I have included my personal philosophy, the supply list, information about some of our Montessori materials and lessons and a copy of our monthly newsletter.
Extra Clothing
Please be sure your child has a complete change of clothing at all times. This includes underwear, socks, a shirt, a sweater or sweat shirt and pants. Everything should be labeled with your child’s name. If this clothing has been used because your child was wet, etc., please send in a replacement the next day.
Please dress your child in clothes that he/she is able to take off and put on by him/herself. Otherwise we have to stop teaching every time someone has to use the lavatory. Belts are especially difficult for our little ones.
Communication
Please be sure to check your child’s folder every day and send it back to school in a bookbag that is large enough to hold it. This is our primary method of communication if you or I have important information to share.
Bus Students
If your child rides a bus, a bus pass must be attached to his/her bookbag everyday to be sure he/she boards the correct bus. Please be sure your child brings a bookbag every day. If the pass is lost, please notify Ms. Mary to make a new one.
