CSE Process

  • When a student is recommended for an evaluation by the Committee on Special Education, the following process takes place:

    1. A referral is made and received by the chairperson or by the building administrator
    2. Response to Intervention is documented
    3. Parent consent to evaluate is requested
    4. Evaluation process begins
    5. Meeting notice is given to parents
    6. CSE meeting is held

If student is found eligible for special education services, then an Individualized Education Program (IEP) is developed.  A student's IEP is reviewed annually and a student is reevaluated every three years, but more often if necessary
