Students should have read their 2 books over the summer. 

In September, they should be reading independently any book of their choice. While the curriculum is reading and writing intensive, independent reading of more than 5 books is encouraged. 

We will have days with sustained, silent reading in class. Books should be brought to class on these days. 

Kindles are allowed and should be fully charged.
