***Students who are in the bilingual program begin receiving advanced Spanish instruction in Grade 7.
By 7th Grade those students who have maintained an 85 average are eligible to take the New York State Proficiency Exam in Spanish.
This enables the students to take their second high school world language credit in 8th Grade, therefore once having taken and passed the Level II Spanish course and exam, those students will take to high school 2 complete credits.
Both groups of students will be able to advance in their world language studies in high school.
