Health Education builds student's knowledge, skills, and positive attitudes about health. Health education curricula and instruction help students learn skills they will use to make health choices throughout their lifetime and result in positive healthy behavior outcomes and less risky behaviors. These skills include: decision-making, planning, goal setting, self-management, stress management, advocacy, and communication. Through these skills, students will learn about various content areas such as physical activity and nutrition; alcohol and other drugs, and tobacco use and abuse; unintentional injury; violence prevention; and family life/sexual health, sexual risk and HIV/AIDS; and mental and emotional health.
