    BBC Dance Mat Typing
    Dance Mat Typing is an online introduction to touch typing for children ages 7-11. Each of the 4 levels are divided into 3 stages. Begin at Level 1 and build up your skills gradually through to Level 4.
    Help end World Hunger. Showcase your vocabulary skills and for each right answer, 10 grains of rice will be donated to the World Food program  to help combat hunger.
    Martha Speaks
    The Martha Speaks Web site has lots of stuff kids can do on their own. The games, videos, and activities are fun, and they help kids learn new words, too! Kids can play and learn.
    Kids' Zone
    Kids' Zone provides information to help you learn about schools; decide on a college; find a public library; engage in several games, quizzes and skill building about math, probability, graphing, and mathematicians; and to learn many interesting facts about education.1

    Covering all core curriculum areas, including history, literature, science, social studies, and more, this portal provides a premium selection of reference material including thousands of full-text periodicals and newspapers, primary sources, creative works, e-books, video and audio clips as well as podcasts.
    OnLine Dictionary is one the largest free online dictionaries. Instantly look up accurate definitions and word meanings. The site offers a comprehensive resource of definitions, synonyms and cultural terms, etymologies, pronunciations, slang, word of the day and more.
    Online Etymology Dictionary
    This is a map of the wheel-ruts of modern English. Etymologies are not definitions; they're explanations of what our words meant and how they sounded 600 or 2,000 years ago.
    World Book Online
    This is a great place to start, especially if you don't know much about a topic and want a general overview before beginning your in-depth research. It's also great for narrowing a topic.
