My name is Mrs.Sobierajski and your son/daughter is enrolled in my Social Studies class this year. It is my goal to provide all students with an educationally challenging, yet fun, experience in my classroom.  We share the same goal for your child, academic growth and success.

Social Studies is a very demanding course. It requires many skills including reading, interpretation, evaluation and synthesis….along with a great deal of memorization!

 Personal responsibility is  essential since daily homework consists of individual study and review. Students are expected to work independently and  avail themselves of non-text book sources of information found in documentaries and written material as well as biographies and historical fiction.

The supplies needed for class are simple: three ring binder ;2 inch  with dividers, paper , pen and 100 3x5 index cards.

I maintain a website that contains myclassroom and grading policies and the syllabus for each course. I also post work and review material along with videos on Schoology. All students in grade 9 Global and both Regents and APUSH are logged on to Realize. There they may access an e-text and practice materials.

APUSH students are encouraged to use the AP classroom on line. The AP text is on Schoology. All materials need for success are easily available.

Progress reports are sent every five weeks. Please review these.

Student test scores are entered into Infinite Campus  which you may access at your convenience.
