    October 2018

Happy October! The students have been very busy in the classroom.

In ELA, we are working on a theme titled "My Family". We will read many stories about members of families and the activities that families do together. We will also be focusing on the skills of letter recognition and the sounds of the letters A-D.  Please practice this at home with your child by asking them words that begin with each letter as well as the sound it makes. Practice goes a long way in helping with this skill.  Also, please continue to help your child recognize his or her first name.

In math, we are learning to make groups of objects (up to 5) and we are sharpening our counting skills.  The students have been doing an excellent job with this task. We are also learning to name and describe basic shapes. You can practice this at home by having children find objects around the house that are the shape you name.

Our Halloween Celebration will take place on Wednesday, October 31st at 10:00 am.  More information regarding this will be coming soon.

Remember, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me vis Class DoJo.  You can also email me at pbley@buffaloschools.org.

    Thank You!
