Flipped Learning

  •

I wanted to let you know of a new way I am teaching my RtI classes until the end of the year.  It is called a “flipped” classroom. This approach is a little different than the traditional way of teaching.  With the flipped approach, what is normally done in the classroom will be done at home and what is traditionally done at home will become classwork.

The direct instruction portion of class will become the homework.  This will be mainly watching a video. Student will be asked to complete a task after watching the video.  When students come to class the next day we will discuss what the video was about and discuss any questions that they may have.  After discussing the lesson that was viewed, we will use the rest of the class enriching the lesson.
