    Arrival
    Doors will be unlocked beginning at 9:00 am.  Upon arrival, students should pick up breakfast and report immediately to the classroom.  Breakfast ends at 9:30 and students arriving after this time will be marked tardy.   
     
    B 
    Birthdays
    Everyone will have a chance to celebrate their birthday with classmates.  Store purchased treats may be sent in or dropped off at the office.  Birthday celebrations will take place at the end of the school day.  
     
    C
    Communication
    Communication between school and home is crucial.  Be sure to keep an updated phone number and address on file with the school office.  If you have any changes, please send a note with your child immediately.  Additional questions and concerns may also be sent in a note with your child, by calling the school, or by contacting me through ClassDojo or at my school email.  
     
    ClassDojo
    This is a teacher tool that helps to build students' learning habits and boost classroom engagement.  It is a way for families to stay connected throughout the day.  Be on the lookout for additional information in your child's homework folder. 
     
    D
    Dismissal
    Dismissal begins at ____.  Walkers are dismissed to the gymnasium at this time. Students riding the bus home will be walked out as a class beginning at ____.  Please send in a note if your child is to go home a different way than his/her normal routine.

    Focus
    Our focus is for all students to become fluent readers! In order to accomplish this goal, all students should practice reading at home for a minimum of 15 minutes each day.

    Grades
    Students receive numerical grades on their report cards.  Classwork and tests will receive a score out of 100%.  A grade of 70% or more is considered Satisfactory

    Homework
    Homework folders and/or notebooks should travel between school and home in a backpack every single day.     
     
    I
    Illness
    The question of when to keep your child home from school is often a difficult one, especially when decisions must be made first thing in the morning. It is important, however, to keep your child home if he/she is ill. This helps to make them more comfortable and prevents others from becoming ill.

    Kindness
    Students in our classroom are encouraged and expected to show kindness and use kind words. Bothering others, bullying or using unkind/inappropriate language will not be permitted.

    Lunch
    The third grades will be eating lunch from ____ - ____ daily (except on half days).
     
     
    M
    Medications
    Medications cannot be sent into school without a note from the doctor and they must be administered by the school nurse. A parent or guardian MUST bring the medication to school. DO NOT SEND IT IN WITH YOUR CHILD.

    News
    Classroom announcements will be sent home in the Wednesday folder as well as through ClassDoJo.  Be sure to get connected.

    Parent Involvement
    Your support of our classroom is greatly appreciated! We always welcome helping hands in Room 330. Please watch the take home folder for information about special celebrations that we will have in our classroom.  We would love for you to be a part of them!

    Questions
     
    Most questions are easily answered with an email or a note. I will do my best to get back to you as quickly as I can. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions that you may have about your child.

    Report Cards
    Report cards are issued every 10 weeks (4 report cards total). These reports reflect the progress your child has made towards 3rd grade expected outcomes. Report cards are sent in the mail.  Be sure the office has an up to date address on record.

    Success
    Everyone will experience success as long as they work their very hardest and do their best every single day. 
     
    T
    Tardies
    If your child arrives to school after the 9:30 bell, they will be marked tardy, and will need to go to the office for a late pass before going to his/her classroom. Also, please be sure to send a note.
     
    U
    Uniforms
    Shirts:  Only solid whitegray or black with a collar (polo or turtleneck). Long and short sleeves are acceptable.  Tank tops and spaghetti straps are not acceptable.   
     
    Bottoms:  Only solid black (shorts, skorts, skirts, and jumpers must be knee length)   
     
    V
    Volunteers
    We love volunteers in our classroom! Moms, dads, grandparents and other adults who are close to your child are welcome to join us on field trips and during holiday celebrations.
