Vision services may be provided to students who are considered visually impaired, legally blind, or totally blind. Services are determined by an evaluation from the teacher for the visually impaired and a report from an ophthalmologist. Vision services are determined according to how the student functions within the academic setting.
Students work on skills from vision efficiency to braille. Daily living skills, listening skills, and instruction in the use of
adaptive equipment and technology for the visually impaired is also a part of the visually impaired program. A multi-sensory approach is used depending on the student's individual needs.
Vision Services may be reached at 816-4080.
