     Welcome to the new virtual 2020 school year.  I hope you are staying healthy and safe during this time.  My name is Ms. Jedynak.  I am the new EL (English Language) teacher here at school #89!  I am looking forward to an exciting year working with your child. I want to take a moment and introduce myself.  I have been teaching in Buffalo for the past 14 years as a Special Education Teacher.  I have taught many different grade levels over the years.  I decided to make a change to Multilingual Education to work with a different population of students.

     My philosophy in education has always been to develop the strength within the learner to excel within their unexpected potential, believing that they can while ensuring learning is fun!  Together...we can make it happen!

     SUCCESS will be our theme for this year.  We will be discussing and developing those skills which are necessary to be successful!  The guidelines for success are be responsible, always try, do your best, cooperate with others, and treat everyone with respect (including yourself.)

     To guarentee success of all the hard work students have put into school this year, it is important that there be a strong partnership between home and school.  I encourage parents to take part in activities that reinforce and enhance your child's learning in school.  Under my resources, I have added a few websites that can help with this. 

     Communication is also going to be the key to success for your child.   I would like to work closely together with you.  I am always happy to meet with parents virtually (online).  Please email me at djedynak@buffaloschools.org or message me on the app Talking Points for any questions or concerns.  Talking Points is a great way for us to communicate.  I am able to send you a message that would be translated into your home language.  You are able to message me back in your home language, which would then be translated into English for me.
