Introduction/Expectations for 7th Grade Math

Grade 7 Common Core Math
Teacher-Miss Chiarello
Welcome back!!! I’m looking forward to an exciting and productive school year. We will be using NYS Common Core Math Modules. We will also be preparing for the state assessment which will be in May. I look forward to working with you as we explore math together.
Homework:
Homework is given at least 2-3 times a week. Homework is expected on the day that it is due!!! If you are absent the work will be expected the following day.
Quizzes/Tests/Projects:
There will be several quizzes each month that will test not only the current material but past material as well. You will take a test at the end of every book/module. There will be 1-2 projects throughout the school year.
Binder/Journal:
You will be given essential questions throughout each module. Journal entries are to be completed in complete sentences using correct capitalization and punctuation.
Participation:
All students are expected to participate daily. Participation includes answering questions, completing notes and coming prepared.
Class Expectations:
- Be respectful at all
times.
- Try to do your
personal best.
- Participate and come
prepared to learn. This means
having your binder, pencils and scientific calculator daily.
- Raise your hand, please
no shouting out.
- Be ready to begin
work immediately upon entering the classroom.

Where to find your grades:
I will be using Infinite Campus for all grades. Parents, you can access your child’s grade using Parent Portal. You may contact the main office if you need a password. Students also have access to Infinite Campus by using their 900 number and password. They can go on and check their grades daily.
