The IB Library

  • The Stanley Makowski Elementary School Library seamlessly supports the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme of Inquiry and International Mindedness.  The library mission is to cultivate inquisitive children who seek out reliable answers to their questions and use libraries as a cultural center throughout their lives. As information literate and technologically competent individuals, our students learn to use the power of information to create a better world as global citizens. They are active lifelong learners as they strive to understand and respect all people, seek information that leads to understanding of other points of view, and create a better world by being ethical consumers and producers of information. The library partners with classroom teachers to deliver and assess the skills of information literacy and technological competence across the curriculum as well as to provide learning opportunities that meet the academic and personal-interest needs of our students.
