Sketchbook Assignments

Sketchbook Assignments are due Tuesday of each week.
Sketchbooks are an important tool for an artists to:
- develop artistic ideas
- develop drawing skills
- develop observational drawing
- develop compositions
- analyze artworks and historical references
- explore art media
- create a visual journal
- visual note-taking
- enrich and reinforce classroom concepts
- have a creative outlet, personal expression
- encourage the habit of daily creative production
Grading of Assignments:
Each sketchbook assignment is graded on a four point scale. The points are averaged at the end of the marking period.
4 pts. - Expresses and organizes ideas and images with a high degree of effectiveness
3 pts. - Expresses and organizes ideas and images with considerable effectiveness
2 pts. - Expresses and organizes ideas and images with some effectiveness
1 pts. - Expresses and organizes ideas and images with limited effectiveness
0 pts. - No attempt was made to complete the assignment or communicate to the teacher any issue, concern, or confusion relating to the assignment or due date.
