Current Events

This is the current events page.  Your job is to read a news article on a current event that has governmental or political significance and report on the article using the current events sheet.  Current events sheets are available from me in class, or you may print one below.  Feel free to use magazines, newspapers or online news sources (which are linked below) for your articles.

Tips:

• Try to pick an article of interest to you as it will make the work more bearable.  If an article on tax breaks for employers who provide health care does not interest you, then don’t plod through it!  If an article about a Minnesota woman fined 1.9 million dollars for downloading 24 songs online is more your thing, then go for it.

• While you can use whatever sources of news you like, the links below are there because they are awesome.  Awesomely awesome.  If you just use a search engine you will get old articles… i.e. not CURRENT events.
