    Congratulations!!! You have completed your research, drafted an outline, and are now ready to type your Argument paper!

    Your writing folder should contain:

    ALL COPIES OF YOUR ARTICLES

    YOUR COMPLETED GRAPHIC ORGANIZER

    YOUR TOPIC /THESIS SENTENCE PACK

    Once in the computer lab you will:

    Google: Site of Ms. House

    Click My Links

    GOOGLE DOCS and login, log in ID/pass code info is on the actual link!

    Open a New document

    Go to UNTITLED DOC BOX save it as   GMO ARGUMENT LAST NAME PERIOD

    SHARE WITH TERRI SIMMONS + KENYA HOUSE P9 (JOANNA FOGARASSI) …IF YOU WANT A GRADE!!!

    GO BACK TO MY LINKS CLICK ON WRITING

    Click on MLA Format Cover Page

     and follow the directions!

    Click on Media File: MLA Sample Paper and follow the directions!

    Click on add page numbers and page count in docs and follow the directions!

    Begin typing your essay!

    Be sure to indent for EACH paragraph:

              Introduction, body 1, 2, 3, Conclusion

     

    Double space your paper after you have typed a few lines:

    Be sure to add a transition when introducing your red TBE’s, for suggestions:

    Introduce each elaboration/red with a TWP:

    Site of Ms. House----My Links---Writing---Transition Words-Linking & Connecting Words — Part 1/2

    Wrap each of the three body paragraphs up with a TWP such as:

    With this in mind,

    All things considered,

    In the final analysis,

    In the end,

    Then briefly make the reader understand the importance and relevance of your TBE/reds!

    It should be clear/obvious/apparent that…

    Please spellcheck, use the thesaurus, and the Topic/Thesis sentence pack to enhance your writing!

     

    SAMPLE PARAGRAPH

    Due to the many distractions they cause, cell phones should not be allowed in the classroom. According to Jackson, some of the distractions include… In addition, Smith states that students who… Couple this with a report from Student Daily that explains…Furthermore, Safe Schools, suggest that these distractions force teachers to… In the final analysis, there is a large body of data that makes it clear and supports the banning of cellphones in classrooms!

     

    To correctly cite a source using the MLA format:

    To create the Works Cited page which is a list of all the articles you used:
