Sheet Metal Technology
The Study of the Fabrication of Sheet Metal Components
There are 24 students accepted into this program at the beginning of their sophomore
year. Students will study the design, layout and fabrication of various
sheet metal components used for the movement of air. All modern methods
and materials are taught and utilized, including:
Standard Assembly Procedures - Riveting - Ferrous and Non Ferrous
Metals - Welding and Soldering
In their senior year, students design and build a residential air conditioning and heating system (excluding the actual air conditioning equipment). Students will also be offered the opportunity to participate in a work release or intern program during their senior year.
Graduates
of the sheet metal program are highly skilled craftsmen who make,
install, repair, and alter products made of sheet metals in
construction, industrial and transportation work.
