    Objective/Task

    Fulfills the task, uses appropriate ideas and presents ideas in a logical sequence.

    Fulfills the task by using mostly relevant ideas

    Fulfills the task but there are some irrelevancies.

    Makes at least one statement, which fulfills the task.

    Vocabulary

    Uses a full range of level appropriate nouns, verbs and adjectives.  Uses relevant words to expand the topic

    Uses a variety of relevant and appropriate vocabulary to address the task.

    Uses vocabulary that is sometimes not appropriate or relevant to the task.

    Uses limited vocabulary, which is often appropriate for the task.

     

    Structure

    Demonstrates high control of structure:

    -          Subject/verb agreement

    -          Noun/adjective agreement

    -          Correct word order

    -          Spelling

    Errors do not impede the overall comprehensibility of the passage.

    Demonstrates some control of structure:

    -          Subject/verb agreement

    -          Noun/adjective agreement

    -          Correct word order

    -          Spelling

    Errors do not impede the overall comprehensibility of the passage.

    Demonstrates inaccuracies in the control of structure:

    -          Subject/verb agreement

    -          Noun/adjective agreement

    -          Correct word order

    -          Spelling

    Errors do not impede the overall comprehensibility of the passage.

     

    Exhibits little control of structure.

    Errors hinder overall comprehensibility of passage.

    Word Count

    Names of people and English products do not count. (Target, Pepsi etc.)

    Utilizes 30 or more comprehensible words that develop the task.

    Utilizes 25-29 comprehensible words in the target language that develop the task.

    Utilizes 20-24 comprehensible words in the target language that develop the task.

    Utilizes 15-19 comprehensible words in the target language that develop the task.
