  • My Brother’s Keeper Goal 5 provides exposure to career exploration and work experiences throughout high school. In the 2017-2018 school year, site visits, college tours, workshops, guest speakers, and after school career readiness trainings have resulted in over 2,500 experiences for MBK students. In addition, students participated in a five-week, paid summer work experience. A variety of placements in local innovative businesses including Silo City, Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper, Sentient Science, MISSION: IGNITE, HEAL International, and Stitch Buffalo will engage students in learning career skills while advancing their knowledge in numerous career fields.

At the half-way point in the 2018-2019 school year, nearly 1000 students have been exposed to similar opportunities including work with Junior Achievement, the Minority Bar Association, Buffalo Employment Opportunity Center, ECC Tech Wars, Erie County Restorative Justice Coalition, Secret Service, and the Buffalo Maritime Center.
