Mrs. Kristy Mrugala

I have been teaching at City Honors for 11 years. I started out as a general education mathematics teacher. During my time as a general education math teacher I taught Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Geometry. I then moved to the position of the STARS mathematics teacher. During that time, I taught Algebra 1, Geometry, and IB Math Studies. More recently, I moved to a resource position. I have students on my case load who have IEPs, but are in the general education setting. It is my job to discuss with their teachers techniques to help my students become successful, and also to keep my students on track. My students come to me for resource, during which time I am able to re-teach concepts they may be struggling with in the classroom, and I am able to help with homework. I also teach at least one section of math each year. Last year, I taught Algebra 1. This year, I get to teach my favorite: GEOMETRY!

At home, I have 2 boys, ages 4 1/2 and 2 1/2. My family loves the Yankees, Sabres, and Bandits! I also coach the City Honors Boys Varsity Swim Team here at school. I was a gymnast until 8th grade, when I switched over to swimming. I swam on the varsity swim team at Kenmore East High School from 8th grade through 12th grade.
