Buffalo Public School Educators create environments that are safe, supportive, welcoming and including of all students as they enter the doors of the Buffalo Public Schools. Everyone understands the seriousness of bullying and strives to create environments that promote, teach and protect students in an effort to stop bullying. Educators create opportunities to work with students, teachers, and community to examine, plan and action against bullying. New York State requires all educators be trained in The Dignity for All Students Act(DASA) protecting all students from being subject to discrimination, harassment, and bullying. Employees are trained in a variety of topics to advance their practices and support students: DASA training, classroom management, de-escalation, restorative practices, trauma informed care, culturally responsive teaching etc.
