"Coming from a long line of social justice activists, including my mother, Mildred Prim, my grandmother Carrie Price, and my godmother, Mildred Dobbs, having the ability to continue the fight for equality and social justice in education and in our communities is not only my life's work and passion, but my personal commitment in paying homage to the "Giants" whose shoulders upon which I stand. As my primary teachers and my heroines, they have paved the way for me to continue the equity fight for every student, parent, teacher, administrator, and community member each and every day of my life. Educational equity has the ability to positively impact the lives of our young scholars in every endeavor of human achievement. Thank you all for allowing me to lead such important work as emancipating the hearts and minds of every stakeholder in our District. I am most thankful and blessed to serve you all in this critical capacity."

"The beauty of CLRI is that it uses the power of human connection to change the hearts and minds of individuals throughout our district in every classroom, school and department. In this newly created department and my newly appointed position, I feel honored to be instrumental in this powerful mindset shift in the Buffalo Public Schools. I have been active in planning all of the Urban Forums from the very beginning. Being part of the Buffalo Public School District that has clear vision around this crucial work, and that is on a mission for equity is a space we only dreamed about five years ago at the first Urban Forum. It is truly a privilege to provide so many life-changing moments and experiences for the students and staff in all of the various student programs and professional development that CLRI leads. I often share that this is not only hard work, but HEART work. It is definitely work for which I am thankful to be a part."

"In reflecting upon the phrase, 'Clear Vision on a Mission for Equity,' to me it means having a clear vision around the roles, responsibilities, and actions of all stakeholders in our District and the goals we are working towards together to achieve equitable outcomes for all students in the Buffalo Public Schools. It means believing that all students, regardless of their race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, are entitled to a safe place to learn and grow, and a place where they will be valued, respected, and supported. It is through actions that align to these beliefs that we will be able to meet the needs of our students and prepare them for future success."
