    When is a contract required?

    A contract is required when:

    • service is on a BPS site or at an event sponsored by BPS
    • service involves direct interaction with BPS students or staff
    • service is performed on BPS equipment
    • object code “440” or similar object code is used

    NO EXCEPTIONS. THIS IS TRUE REGARDLESS OF THE VALUE OF THE SERVICES.


    How do I prepare and submit a contract?

    Important: Requisition must be complete and funds encumbered (Status 4 – Allocated) before submitting a contract for approval. In order to avoid delays, please do not release a requisition until a signed contract is attached.


    Where can I find an executed contract?

    Send your inquiry to bpscontracts@buffaloschools.org and we will attempt to locate it.


    How do I prepare and submit an addendum to a contract?

    Any change to a current/nonexpired contract (such as the date range, dollar amount increase, etc.) will require an addendum. An addendum for an increased dollar amount exceeding $20,000 may need a new Board approval. A change to a fund number that was previously approved by the Board may also need a new Board approval.
