Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Rickert

Meet your teacher:

Hello and welcome to 6th grade! My name is Ms. Rickert and I am pleased to by your new ELA teacher. This is my fifth year at Frank A. Sedita and I love being a Sedita dragon! Before coming to Sedita I had the pleasure of teaching 3rd grade within our school district.

I graduated from the State University of New York College with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Childhood Education (B-2) and (1-6) as well as a master’s degree in Curriculum and instruction. In 2013, I received my dual certification in Early Childhood and Childhood Special Education.  Immediately following my certifications, I began working as a Special Education teacher in Buffalo.

I was born in Longview, Texas and moved to Buffalo when I was 4 years old. I still have family that live there and would love to go back some day! Other members of my family include my two children ages13 and 17. My son is 13 years old and is entering 8th grade and my daughter who is 17 is entering 12th grade. I love spending time with them on our shared holidays and summer breaks.

When I am not teaching I enjoy reading lots of nonfiction books, relaxing at the pool or beach, shopping, dining-out, and spending time with my family and friends.

I can’t wait to meet you and your family during our virtual school events and upcoming chats. If you have any questions feel free to contact me at or check our my Teacher Pages at:
