    Job Description

    Assembles electronic components, subassemblies, products, or systems by performing the following duties:

    • Locate and retrieve procedures and/or work instructions; set up workstations; prepare printed circuit boards; prepare components for assembly.
    • Install components demonstrating proper component identification skill, sequence of hand placed parts, polarity, placement of large heat-producing components, resistors and jumper wires as required.
    • Experience soldering with ROHS and leaded solder.
    • Demonstrate proper use of equipment including soldering irons, soldering tips, fixtures, board depaneller, board washer.
    • Ensures all thru-hole components are installed correctly; removes and replaces thru-hole components as required.
    • Places SMT components by hand; removes and replaces SMT chips.
    • Checks printed circuit board for proper component placement, solder defects, missing, raised or reversed components and quality workmanship per work instruction. This will require using a microscope.
    • Understand line flow and process capability.
    • Demonstrate acceptable skill levels in soldering and performing minor rework.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    One-year certificate from college or technical school; two years related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Previous soldering experience and knowledge helpful.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • High school diploma required; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred

    • Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience preferred

    • Valid driver’s license required and must also have or be able to get a CDL license

     OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:  The ability to solve problems and comfort using tools • Excellent customer service skills and communication skills • The ability to work well as part of a team and outside • Basic computer skills • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job • Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background screening (to include criminal checks, past employment and education), the ability to pass a drug screen and physical as required by the Department of Transportation, and potential travel within a near geography for training are required.

    Neville Manufacturing has been locally owned and operated as Western New York’s preferred crate and pallet supplier since 1951. Our 70,000 square foot facility, located at 2320 Clinton Street in the heart of WNY, allows us to expand our quality service and to further our client fulfillment through diversifying our ability to customize and cater to their wooden crate and pallet needs.

    Neville is looking for students who would like to balance school with part-time work. We are in need of hands-on production workers in our wooden crate fabrication department. We are flexible with available work hours, and days of the week available.

    Pay, Hours & Benefits: We pay competitive hourly wages and provide interesting and different work each day working with wood. We have positions available on the 1st or 2nd shift. Workers looking for a 2nd job and college students are welcomed and encouraged to apply. We will be flexible with scheduling work hours.
