There’s a COVID-19 Reporting Portal that all employees are required to submit (and resubmit if the submission was after 1/10/2022) their test results, ECDOH quarantine/isolation documentation, and BPS leave form to restore employee accruals.  It will take 3-4 pay periods to see the restoration of up to ten illness days.  DO NOT send an email.  This is the only way to report a positive COVID-19 test, or quarantine information.

  • Requirement for COVID-19 Testing for Teachers and other School Employees

    with Opt-Out for Vaccinated


    NYS Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Department of Health released official guidance for in-person classroom instruction. The guidance prioritizes in-person learning and details recommendations and requirements for vaccinations, wearing face masks, implementing physical distancing measures, and COVID-19 surveillance testing to mitigate potential transmission spread of the COVID-19 virus.


    The emergency regulation authorizes the Commissioner of Health to require weekly testing or proof of being fully vaccinated and applies to all schools in New York State until it is no longer necessary as described in the language of the regulation.  Detailed information on the regulation can be found at;


    Buffalo Public School Procedures

    According to the mandate, school staff must provide the District with proof of vaccination, or they must submit weekly COVID-19 test confirmation.

    where staff can either;

    1.            Upload COVID-19 vaccination verification

    information, or

    2.            Upload weekly testing confirmation​


    Staff are directed to use the link above to submit proof of vaccination or weekly testing confirmation.  HR will not accept emails.  Regarding staff who are not vaccinated, and have tested positive for COVID-19,  to avoid being contacted by HR for not submitting weekly testing, they can upload their positive test weekly for 90 days.




    Due to an unanticipated change in vendors, the District is currently only able to offer random testing of 30% of School based staff.  Therefore, those who are not vaccinated, and who are required to supply the District with weekly testing information, will not have access to weekly testing in schools.

    Testing for COVID-19 is widely available throughout New York State. Individuals who have questions about COVID-19 testing should call the New York State COVID-19 Hotline at 1-888-364-3065 or visit the NYSDOH website. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please call the testing site or your health care provider before you go for testing.


    If an employee chooses to seek testing from their physician or another state approved testing site, they can upload those results.  The District accepts home testing results in the portal.
