What are the hours of the afterschool program?
The afterschool program runs two hours, beginning directly after the school day ends.

What days do the afterschool programs operate this year?
The program operates Monday through Friday for elementary schools. Schools 156, 192 and 195 operate four days a week, Monday through Thursday.

When does after school end this year?
Afterschool ends on June 10th.

What types of activities will my child be engaged in?
Programming supports students in meeting social-emotional, academic, physical, recreational, and health and wellness needs.
Students will participate in:
Academic Enrichment - Activities that supplement, enhance or reinforce what is learned during the regular school day
Positive Youth Development - Encourage students to develop into well-rounded and healthy adults who are contributing members of their communities
Health and Wellness - Activities that promote physical fitness and healthy eating habits

Will my student receive transportation home by yellow bus?
Due to yellow bus staffing shortages, all students who participate in the program must be a walker or get picked up.

Does my child receive dinner?
Students who attend the after school program will receive an enhanced snack or a hot meal depending on the particular program.

Why is my child on the waiting list?
Some students may appear on the waiting list as the school hires more staff to work the program.

What is the teacher to student ratio in the after school program?
The teacher to student ratio in the after school program is 1:15.

My child did not receive an application for the after school program, what should I do?
Call your child’s school to inquire about the process.
